Connecting People to Nature: Preserving Monterey Bay's Coastal Legacy
Redwoods to Sea is dedicated to educating about, connecting, conserving, maintaining, developing, and restoring the coastal ecosystems, forests, and indigenous knowledge of the Monterey Bay.

About

Redwoods To Sea was founded with a vision to protect and celebrate the unique landscapes of the Monterey Bay region.

Our team is passionate about making nature accessible to everyone, regardless of economic or physical challenges.

From towering redwood forests to the vast expanse of the Pacific, we work tirelessly to:

  • Educate about local ecosystems and indigenous cultures
  • Connect people from all walks of life with nature
  • Conserve and maintain our precious natural resources
  • Develop sustainable practices for land management
  • Restore damaged ecosystems to their natural state

Mark, I CANNOT thank you enough for organising and offering the last two weeks of opportunities for our students. These experiences have had a tremendously positive impact on our students! Your continued work Is truly appreciated!
PLEASE pass our utmost gratitude to Robert and his non-profit crew!! Our community is so very, very grateful!
Paul and the Pondo Team Alternative Education School, Santa Cruz.
Thank you so much Robert. Your generosity to our students is so appreciated and it truly does bring enrichment to their lives. We are all so fortunate to live in this beautiful area and the opportunity to get the students "up close and personal" with the might ocean is a real gift.
Thanks again to you too Mark for helping all of us bring this opportunity to the kids.

Robert Seals and his amazing nonprofit have provided our Alt Ed students from throughout the county, San Lorenzo Valley to Watsonville, with many amazing outings on the Monterey Bay and Elkhorn Slough over the past several years.
From Brown Pelicans and Great Egrets to pods of orcas and thrust-feeding humpbacks, we have thrilled at Mother Nature in action and at short range. His passion for nature and young people and bringing them together is palpable and contagious!
We all learned a tremendous amount from him and from his onboard marine biologist, and the experience was transformational for many of our students! Some arranged with Robert to volunteer on future outings and some are now considering careers in Marine Biology. O"Neil Sea Odyssey provides similar opportunities for fifth-graders in the County, but Robert's program is unique in providing these experiences to secondary students.

Finding Robert Seals and his team at Mother Nature's Temple has been like finding a genie bottle on Santa Cruz County sands. They deliver on their mission "to reinforce the connection of people, especially children, to nature" with magnificence, ease and flexibility, the latter two qualities being paramount to working with school districts such as ours.
Through our Outdoor School & Character Development program, New School has been on 14 field trips with this wonderful group over the last six years; whale watching in the Monterey Bay, canoeing through Elkhorn Slough, and practicing team building exercises, hiking, welding, plein air painting, archery and cooking at their outdoor facilities in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Each and every experience has been safe, smooth and positively impressionable on hundreds of young lives.
The generosity of spirit and execution of Mr. Seals and his team to make these fantastic adventures happen for our young people is a blessing and a miracle I hope everyone reading this is able to realize and support.
